The new Connich bar at the Hilton Glasgow has plenty of private areas

It’s all go at the Hilton Glasgow where staff are busy launching not one, not two but three new venues. The first to be revealed is Connich, their new, ground floor bar which takes its name from the Gaelic for ‘encounter’.

Naturally, it stocks a huge range of wines, beers, spirits and sparklers but it also has a wide cocktail selection that takes in classic, Champagne, signature and calorie conscious cocktails.

The bar menu sounds fun. There are classic bar dishes such as fish ‘n’ chips but it also serves Scottish themed snacks such as tattie scone nachos and crisp haggis bites.

Hot on the heels of Connich will be the hotel’s new restaurant – Morblas, a name derived from the Scottish Gaelic words for ‘great’ and ‘taste’. Also scheduled to launch this summer is the new afternoon tea lounge, Ti which takes its name from, can you guess? Yup, the Gaelic for tea.

Designed to be a cosmopolitan companion to the Connich, Ti will offer trad afternoon tea along with new versions with titles such as Confessions of a Chocoholic and the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea.
