][1]Last Friday, the 5pm blog blethered about the fabulous August Dinearound which is taking place in Glasgow. But it’s not the only event which is making some noise on the Glasgow dining scene at the moment.
In conjunction with Piping Live! and Glasgow Dinearound, sixteen of Glasgow’s more notable restaurants will be laying on tastings in George Square between 11am and 3pm all this week.
The full list of restaurants is in the Piping Live! site here but we should draw your attention to one or two of them in particular.
First up, is the Brasserie on George Square, part of the Millennium Hotel. As well as being popular with 5pm reviewers, the Brasserie is currently running a two person Big Deal on beer battered haddock and chips or steak and chips. The details are here.
Other participating restaurants which are also part of 5pm include the Di Maggio groups of American Italian restaurants; the Scottish flavoured Arisaig; the ever popular Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery and, of course, The Piper’s Tryst.
