The Edinburgh Festivals may be over but Fred Berkmiller, chef patron of L’escargot Bleu and Blanc, is not bringing down the curtain at Le Bistrot, his pop-up in the French Institute on Randolph Crescent.

Instead, Le Bistrot will continue to serve breakfasts and lunches until 4pm. Pains au chocolat; fromage and charcuterie platters plus classic plats du jour such as rabbit in mustard make up the menu.

During the autumn months, Le Bistrot will also be open on the occasional evening to accompany a series of gastronomic and cultural talks at the Institute.

The rest of the time, you’ll just have to head to L’escargot Blanc on the nearby Queensferry Street for your fish soup, roast veal and creme brulees.
