Metropolitan’s Darren Scott will be the host with the most on Saturday night

Fire breathers, burlesque dancers and aerial acrobats are all on the menu in Merchant Square this Saturday as Metropolitan celebrates its tenth birthday.

The popular cocktail bar and restaurant is also bringing Café Mambo Ibiza resident DJ Pete Gooding to Glasgow for the free party which will run from 6pm to late.

‘We’re pulling out all the stops to make our tenth birthday bash extra special,’ said Met manager Darren Scott.

‘Café Mambo Ibiza resident DJ of ten years, Pete Gooding, will headline an evening of glittering entertainment. Café Mambo is synonymous with a cool, relaxed upmarket vibe that fits in perfectly with Metropolitan.

‘Pete will be supported by Glasgow’s best resident DJ’s – Fox MacLeod, Scott Strachan and Stuart McCorrisken – and we’ll redecorate Metropolitan for the night to lend it a cool, clubby feel while our courtyard will be extended out into Merchant Square to accommodate revellers.

‘And in addition to a red carpet, fire breathers, burlesque dancers and a dazzling variety of other entertainment acts, on the stroke of midnight, flying ribbon dancers will descend from the centre of Merchant Square ’s glittery canopy in a dramatic, acrobatic display.’

Upstairs at Metropolitan will feature live piano music, a funk and soul band and a DJ whilst guests can take advantage of a variety of food, drink and champagne offers and table packages.

Metropolitan has long been a hit with 5pm users who have scored it a very healthy 4.1/5. You can see Metropolitan’s 5pm offers here.
