Team 5pm on one of the better mornings

So it’s Halloween and the 5pm office looks like the extras’ rest room for the Thriller video. I can hardly hear myself think over the howls of werewolves, the sinister laughs of Bela Lugosi look-a-likes and several zombies moaning about not having enough brains for breakfast.

Bloody Mary oyster shot

Glasgow’s Mussel Inn is staging its very own Nightmare on Hope Street this evening by offering diners a Halloween treat: 2 for 1 on Bloody Mary oyster shots.

A potent mix of vodka, fresh tomato juice, a squeeze of lemon, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and, of course, oyster meat, the Bloody Mary oyster shots should be just the trick to raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

5pm offer

Equally as tasty, the Mussel Inn is currently running a 5pm offer: 25% off their a la carte menu.

Monster supplies

Sticking with the ghost and ghoul theme, way back in May, we blogged about salt made from tears, cubed earwax and boiled sweets designed to induce a feeling of escalating panic.

They are all fiendishly unusual products which are on sale from Hoxton Street Monster Supplies: purveyor of quality goods for monsters of all kinds.

Until recently, they were only available by mail order or from the London shop. However, just in time for Halloween, Harvey Nicks stores have started stocking their devilish range.

So, if you are in the market for Olde Fashioned Brain Jam (raspberry jam), Guts & Garlic Chutney, Organ Marmalade or Thickest Human Snot (lemon curd) then you know which direction to point your broomstick in.
