Auchentoshan is injecting new ideas into the presentation of whisky

Wine and food matching is well established and, thanks to sterling efforts from companies such as Innis & Gunn, food and beer matching is on the rise.

Matching whisky &food

Matching whisky to food is still in its infancy but, if you want to see how it’s done, then you may wish to pop along to an Auchentoshan Presents event taking place at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh on Sunday 28 October.

‘Shacklewell Nights classically modern Hidden Dining experience’ is quite a mouthful but the idea is much easier to swallow.

Secret dining

Claire Robinson, a pioneer of London’s secret dining scene, will be in the capital to cook up a three course meal which will be matched with different expressions of the Auchentoshan.

The menu is:

Cullen Skink with Berkswell Biscuits

Braised short beef ribs, celeriac & Calvolo Nero

OR

Wild girolles with celeriac & chestnuts with Calvoro Nero (V)

Parking with honey & Auchentoshan ice cream

The event is one of a series which Auchentoshan have been running in key UK cities. You may recall the 5pm blog about the gentlemen’s grooming night held at Corinthian in Glasgow in July.
