The Michelin man may be running out of steam

You may, or indeed may not, have noticed that the latest Michelin Guide was leaked early this year. It’s not the first time that the guide has found itself in the public domain long before its official release date.

Increasingly, one can’t help but feel that they are incredibly lax about security or figure that a well publicised leak is the only way to stir much interest.

Anyway, Scotland maintained its status quo with no-one north of the border winning or losing a star.

Every time the new guide is released, prominent food writers rush to pour scorn on the book because it is out of touch; elitist; francophile and utterly baffled by Indian cooking.

They have a point but it’s still the only guide which most chefs would deep fry their first born for.

Whichever side of the fence you are on, here’s a link to AA Gill of the Sunday Times bitching about Michelin in Vanity Fair.
