There’s only one place to be this weekend

As excitement about tonight’s all male Great British Bake Off final reaches fever pitch, the blog is being bombarded with baking product PRs keen to piggyback on the success of the Mary Berry juggernaut.

From bottles of vanilla extract to Neff ovens, everyone is keen to have a piece of reflected glory from tonight’s baking boy victor.

Mary Berry action

The BBC Good Food Show Scotland would seem to have grabbed the lion’s share. Taking place from Friday at the SECC, the tasty three day extravaganza is being billed as one of the first public chances to see Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood in action after tonight’s final.

The floury-fingered duo are hosting three baking masterclasses in the Supertheatre on Friday.

Hairy Bikers

Other sleb chefs in attendance include the Hairy Bikers; James Martin and, of course, Gregg  ‘n’  John from MasterChef.

Food and chefs from Fife lead the entertainment in the seasonal tasting theatre while dozens of artisan cheesemakers, distillers, bakers, butchers and probably candlestick makers will be selling their wares in the producers’ market.

Lots of the master classes, demos and personal appearances are either sold or are filling up quickly. If you want to catch some of the more popular stars in action then you’ll need to get your skates on.
