Masala Twist on Byres Road has branched out into the city centre

There must be something in the water in Glasgow as new restaurants continue to join the city’s already packed restaurant scene.

Say Ole to tapas

First up, let’s say ‘Bienvenido’ to Casa Ole a new Spanish restaurant on Paisley Road West, Glasgow. Open for just over a month, it’s a tapas restaurant selling familiar dishes such as garlic, chilli and lemon prawns along with dishes which are, perhaps, less familiar such as the slow cooked lentils or the leeks in a creamy garlic sauce.

You can see their a la carte menu here.

Do the Twist again

We’ll also have a brief shout out for the Masala Twist Tikka and Tapas Bar which has opened on Hope Street in Glasgow. It’s run by the same team behind Masala Twist on Byres Road.

Interestingly, in places, the menu veers from the most well trodden Anglo-Indian dishes with choices like the pheasant curry. However, we’ll keep our powder dry with Masala Twist Tikka and Tapas Bar until next week when a 5pm Big Deal will offer a great introduction to this new restaurant.

New Hyde out soon

Finally, a mention for Hyde, a new bar, grill and restaurant which is taking shape on Partick Bridge Street in Glasgow’s West End. It promises to be a ‘great place to see and be seen’ while serving seasonal dishes. A south facing mezzanine terrace could be a major draw in the sunnier months.
