Probably doing the work of three men, Mark Greenaway is setting up his new restaurant on North Castle Street.

So , 2013, what’s happening? First up, Mark Greenaway has announced that he is to re-open his eponymous restaurant on Edinburgh’s North Castle Street.

Originally on Picardy Place, Restaurant Mark Greenaway closed unexpectedly in November with promises that it would reappear in a new but, as of then, undisclosed location.

It turns out that chef Greenaway has taken over the premises that once housed Librizzi. Due to open on Friday 18 January, the new Restaurant Mark Greenaway will include a wine vault where sommelier Loic Deruyver will invite diners to try wine before ordering.

Private dining

From spring 2013, a private dining room seating twelve will also be available. The restaurant will be open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Mark said:  ‘I’m delighted to reveal the new location of my restaurant and equally thrilled to be getting back into the kitchen. Despite the new location, my menus and cooking style will remain the same.  I’ll continue with my modern approach to classic dishes. I am also very fortunate to have retained my staff and suppliers during my short break from the kitchen and look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to my new premises on North Castle Street.’

AA Rosettes

Since opening in February 2011, Greenaway has been awarded three AA rosettes and been included in the Michelin and Good Food Guides.
