Last November, the 5pm Restaurants blog mentioned Central Market, a thoughtful new restaurant which had opened in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Staffed by chefs Andy Lambert and Neil Palmer, veterans of Urban Brasserie and Malmaison, the kitchen has been busy serving modern British dishes such as ox cheek stew and smoked trout with horse radish crème fraiche.

They must be doing something right as they have had rather enthusiastic reviews from the Sunday Herald’s Joanna Blythmann; The Herald’s Ron Mackenna and, writing in The Guardian, Marina O’Loughlin was also rather taken with their efforts.

The reviews are here, here and here.

Always good to see Glasgow restaurants getting the thumbs up from local and national reviewers.
