Hendrick's Gin; an ideal mid-afternoon pick-me-up
Hendrick’s Gin; an ideal mid-afternoon pick-me-up

One Square bar and restaurant in Edinburgh’s Sheraton is pepping up its afternoon tea offer with a stiff shot of Hendrick’s Gin.

Afternoon tea

The G & Tea Afternoon Tea is served with a Hendrick’s cocktail made with a blend of Hendrick’s Gin, mint, cucumber, apple liqueur, a dash of lemon juice and Earl Grey syrup. Naturally, it is served in a vintage teapot.

The idea is that the botanicals in the Hendrick’s gin will complement the selection of sandwiches, freshly-made scones and indulgent cakes on offer.

Rare breed pork

The crockery is by Hendrick’s Gin, and even one of the assorted sandwiches features a taste of gin, as the rare breed pork is oven-roasted with Hendrick’s. Other highlights on the pastry menu include English rose & cucumber Eton Mess, plus fruit scones with golden sultanas soaked in Green Chartreuse served with Devonshire clotted cream and home made rose petal jelly.

Edinburgh Castle

The G & Tea Afternoon Tea is served in One Square, which overlooks Edinburgh Castle. It is available, daily, between 2.30pm and 5.30pm and costs £24.50 per person and is available at One Square until 31st March 2013.
