Forget MasterChef and Food Glorious Food, the real food stars of the future are already working in a kitchen in Glasgow.

At least that’s the idea behind the Rising Stars lunch taking place in the Monte Carlo suite at Blythswood Square on Sunday 28th April.

Culinary skills

Eight young chefs from the kitchen at the hotel will prepare a four course lunch designed to demonstrate their fast growing culinary skills.

Host Viv Lumsden will interview each chef during the course of the afternoon to discuss their careers so far and ambitions for the future.

Charity lunch

There will also be a raffle to raise money for The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

Here’s the menu:

Tomato and vegetable bouillon, ricotta and basil agnolotti

Seared, hand-dived scallop, cauliflower textures

Spring lamb shoulder and loin, wild garlic potato puree, Savoy cabbage, Madeira jus

Flaming rhubarb crème brulée, sorbet and chocolate.

Tickets cost £35 per head and include a glass of fizz on arrival as well as the four course lunch. The lunch starts at noon on Sunday 28th April.
