Afternoon tea has an international flavour at One Square during August

One Square bar and restaurant on Festival Square is getting into the Festival mood with a new seasonal afternoon tea. During August, they are running an international afternoon tea with dishes from different countries representing the vast diversity of performers giving shows in the capital.

Pulled pork

Among the sandwiches, there is focaccia topped with vine tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella from Italy; a croissant filled with Brie de Meaux and bacon from Alsace plus an onion bread sandwich topped with BBQ pulled pork from our friends in the States.

Chocolate yuzu

As well as a variety of scones, the tea includes a selection of sweets and cakes including a slice flavoured with green tea and chocolate yuzu; a Guinness fruit cake and an Arabic pistachio baklava infused with rosewater.

Free range marsh duck

One Square is also rocking a new seasonal menu which includes tempting choices like the free-range marsh duck breast with kohlrabi and plum chutney; the megrim sole with spiced squid and a Madras curry foam plus hand-dived, seared scallops with a sweetcorn purée and mussel butter.

As well as the a la carte, One Square runs a set lunch and pre-theatre offering at £16 for two courses and £20 for three.
