][1]The 5pm Restaurant blog would like to extend a hearty welcome and a firm handshake to Silvano, a new Italian restaurant on the Great Western Road.
It’s towards the Byres Road end of the street in the premises which formerly housed Persia restaurant.
Stone baked pizza
You can browse the full a la carte menu here but the dishes which jumped out at this scribbler included the stone baked pizza and the lightly battered courgette sticks with a garlicky tomato sauce.
Tamarind chicken
The menu has all the pasta dishes you could want but also moves beyond the more traditional Italian flavours. Chicken with tamarind and a selection of fajitas are also on offer at Silvano.
