The Radisson Blu is on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile

Apart from those have been living under their duvets for the last two weeks, most Edinburgh residents and the city’s many visitors will have realised that several of the city’s many festivals are in full swing.

As always, it’s a brilliant time to be in the capital but, as the city’s population temporarily doubles, it can make booking a restaurant table, especially at peak times, rather tricky.

Open for August

Happily, the Radisson Blu hotel on the Royal Mile is opening up its Restaurant for the duration of August.

Taking reservations for dinner on Thursday to Saturday nights, The Restaurant will be up and running alongside the hotel’s more casual Itchycoo offer.

French & Scottish influences

The menu at The Restaurant delivers the finest, fresh, Scottish produce often with a French influence.

You can see the full menu here but this scribbler’s eye was taken by the maize-fed chicken supreme which is seared and served with a confit fondant potato made from Sharpe’s Express spuds along with woodland mushrooms, roast roots and a red wine jus.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo

As we noted, the Radisson Blu is on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and located very handily for the Tattoo, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Pleasance and several other major venues.

All of which means that The Restaurant would be perfect for a pre-show dinner. You can book from here.
