The handsome interior of 200 St Vincent Street

Tomorrow, the 5pm Big Deal has a good looking offer on afternoon tea at the rooftop restaurant at 200 St Vincent Street.

The offer is for two people and a glass of Champagne is included. The full details will be on the Big Deal page.

A new addition to Glasgow city centre, the sixth floor restaurant at 200 St Vincent Street is a chic and comfortable space with skyline views of Glasgow.

Grade-A listed building

It’s housed in an imposing, Grade A-listed building which dates back to the 1920s. After a multi-million pound restoration, the structure has a new lease of life as luxurious conference and event centre.

The restaurant really looks pretty stunning. With marble and wood floors, designer lighting and stylish, minimalist seats, it is a sophisticated spot for a business lunch; romantic dinner or sumptuous afternoon tea.

Christmas dinner

The restaurant will kick into top gear after the festive season when it opens to the public for lunch and dinner.

Its Christmas lunches and dinners are already on sale and they are pretty enticing. Typical dishes on the festive menus include starters like the chicken, chorizo and goats cheese terrine with a fig compote or the marbled seafood terrine with lemon-dressed leaves, and caviar crème fraiche.

Main course choices include roast organic salmon with leek and chervil mash, balsamic burst cherry vine tomatoes and a citrus dressing.

Alternatively, you might hope to see Santa cantering over the rooftops while sinking into the slow-cooked blade of beef with fondant potato, creamed chestnuts and a tarragon jus.
