Bread Meats Bread: taking the humble piece to infinity and beyond

The 5pm Dining blog is looking forward to visiting Glasgow’s Bread Meats Bread in the near future. After a turbulent genesis, the St Vincent Street venue opens tomorrow (Wed 30th October) promising gourmet street food.

Sandwiches, burgers and sides are at the heart of the offer but that doesn’t really do justice to the effort that Burger Meats Bread are putting in.

Made from scratch

All the sandwiches will be made from scratch and to order using Scottish produce which has been naturally raised, grass-fed or organic.

There will be two to three sandwiches made with beef, pork or chicken as well as a vegetarian option.

At least one of the choices on each category will be smoked, cured or slow cooked.

Flagship sandwich

The flagship sandwich is the porchetta, slow cooked in house and served on artisan ciabatta with salsa verde. All the sandwiches will be priced around the £6-£7 mark.

Bread Meats Bread have also developed three different burger blends. So the house or Scotch Label burger is made from three specific quality cuts of Scotch beef, all prepared and ground fresh in house daily.

Their Red Label burgers are a spicy burger blend with added Sicilian spicy sausage for a unique piquant taste while the Black Label burger consists of three premium prime cuts of Scotch beef that have been dry aged for flavour.

House blend burger prices will start from £5.

Triple cooked chips

A short selection of sides will be on offer, with home-cut, triple-cooked chips as well as sweet potato chips and smoked beans among others.

Bread Meats Bread will serve beer, wine, soft and hot drinks including their own brand house lager made by a Glasgow brewery.
