Giorgio Locatelli is bringing some Sicilian culinary sunshine to Edinburgh

Italian food fans will have the chance to take their taste buds island hopping on Tuesday 19 November as Giorgio Locatelli brings a taste of Sicily to Edinburgh’s Cucina at Hotel Missoni.

Working closely with Cucina’s Head Chef Mattia Camorani, the Michelin star chef has devised a four course Sicilian menu.

Signor Locatelli, of last year’s BBC 2 series, Sicily Unpacked, said, ‘From the first time I visited Sicily, I was completely blown away.  The region presents dishes that are truly incomparable.  We want this event to bring back memories of superb food to those who have visited Sicily, and offer those who haven’t been, a taste of the beautiful simplicity of this region’s cuisine. This year, Mattia and I have created a menu we’re really proud of and one that allows us to share our love for Sicilian dishes with our guests.’

Authentic Italian food

Mattia Camorani, Head Chef at Cucina said; ‘Giorgio is my mentor and it’s always exciting for me when he joins me in my kitchen.  His passion for authentic Italian food is infectious and we’re all looking forward to celebrating the best that this wonderful region offers.  The Sicilian evening will be a taste sensation and a true flavour experience for diners, as we take them on a journey through Sicily with some of the very best food and wine.’

The cost of the dinner £50 per person. Guests can also choose to enjoy a perfectly matched wine with each course for an additional £15. The full menu is here.

Award-winning restaurant

Since opening in 2009, Cucina has won a number of awards and accolades including Best Italian Restaurant at the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2011 and 2012.
