Alternatively, for a more lively Saturday night, make tracks for 29 Private Members Club where Portuguese-born rapper and producer Elson Barbosa will be showcasing at the Belvedere Unfiltered Launch Party.
Apparently, Elson was in Glasgow last year for the MOBO’s and, following a chance meeting at the official VIP after party at 29, he signed a deal with new management.
The upshot is that he has chosen to launch his recording career in Glasgow on Saturday, giving guests a sneak preview at a cocktail party being thrown for new drinks brand, Belvedere Vodka, in the Network bar at 29.

The Belvedere Unfiltered Launch Party kicks off at 8pm on Saturday 1 February and will be serving up sophisticated, simple and classic cocktails including Unfiltered Cobble, Herb Julep and Belvedere Ultimate Martini.

TBH, the 5pm Dining blog makes no claims to be on top of the current hip hop scene but we are partial to Belvedere and a good steak. The award-winning Grill at 29, purveyors of marvelousbeef, is perhaps more our natural habitat.
If you fancy a fine steak before watching Mr Barbosa then they do a beautiful 16 oz rib eye cooked on the bone.
