Let beery battle commence

Monday morning at the 5pm Dining blog can only mean one thing: beer battles!

The long-awaited, fourth Battle of the Brewers (BOTB) takes place this Thursday with Stewart Brewing going toe-to-toe with Fyne Ales.

Stout competition

Both breweries have been set the challenge of coming up with best 5% stout. The brew-off kicks off at 8pm at the Holyrood 9A in Edinburgh and also at Inn Deep in Glasgow. Ticket proceeds will be split equally between two charities: Aberlour and Yorkhill Hospital.

This is how it works:

Tickets are a fiver and can be purchased on the Stewart Brewing website or in the two respective event venues. A ticket entitle each guest to two half pints of both beers.

Blind tasting

A blind tasting will be conducted, after which ticket holders will vote for the winner and then mingle with the Stewart Brewing and Fyne Ales teams over a beer or two.

There is no official prize other than brewing kudos, bragging rights and more importantly, raising money for two fantastic causes.

Just in case you needed any more persuasion to buy your tickets for a night of fun yet friendly rivalry and a chat with the craft brewers; there will be an array of brilliant beers on the bar as well as copious amounts of freebies and prizes.
