Yakitori, or grilled skewers, are popular at YummyTori.

On Edinburgh’s Lothian Road, YummyTori are launching a new menu with a wine paring dinner which takes place this Saturday, the 15th of March.

If you like yakitori skewers and other Japanese-style tapas, then it looks like being a really interesting evening.

It’s a 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The four course menu costs £35 per head with paired wines and £25 without. There are unlimited soft drinks for those not drinking alcohol.

Naturally, there are also veggie options available.

Here’s the menu:

Chilled glass of sparkling Prosecco on arrival.

Miyabi soup – traditional, hearty, Japanese onion soup.

Anpan – sweet roast pork in a steamed bun.

Buttabara yakitori – scrumptious seared pork belly with mustard miso.

Cheese & courgette yakitori.

Shiitake nikuzume yakitori – mushrooms filled with minced chicken.

Glass of red Tempranillo or white Catarratto.

Gyudon – sliced beef and onions in sweet soy broth on bed of steamed rice, garnished with pickled ginger.

Chicken katsu – breaded crispy chicken with original tonkatsu sauce.

Nasu dengaku – char grilled aubergine with creamy chilli mayo.

Glass of red Carmenere or white Rioja.

Glass of Cinsault rosé.
