Chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin will be hard at work as they prepare to launch their second Galvin Festival of Food and Drink later this month.

The series of dinners, competitions and tastings run in the brothers’ seven restaurants in London and Edinburgh from 19th-25th May.

While you can browse the full line-up of events here, the final event in the week-long calendar looks set to be a spectacular occasion.

Glenmorangie

On Sunday 25th May, The Pompadour by Galvin, in Edinburgh’s Caledonian Hotel, will play host to twelve guests who are in for a fantastic day. Starting things off at 3pm, the diners will be treated to a Glenmorangie whisky tasting.

The tasting will feature four Glenmorangie malts – the Original, La Santa, the 18, and the Signet – with brand ambassador Maxime Magnus guiding guests around the whiskies. Naturally, the drinks will be paired with food from Executive Chef Craig Sandle.

Culinary masterclass

Having dispatched the malts, guests will join Chef Sandle for a culinary masterclass in the restaurant kitchen before working with the kitchen team to create their evening tasting menu. The menu will be served in the restaurant with the option of having matched wines with each course.

Places are limited to twelve and tickets are £80 per person for the meal and £50 per person for the sommelier-matched wines.

If that seems beyond the realms of the bank account, then fear not. There are less pricy alternatives.

As part of the Galvin Week celebrations, a special menu of Galvin classic dishes is being served all week at Galvin Brasserie de Luxe in the hotel

The menu includes steak tartare, Landaise chicken and the Galvins’ favourite, apple tarte Tatin. Two courses are £24.50 while three cost £28.50.
