[Giorgio Locatelli is bringing some Sicilian culinary sunshine to Edinburgh][1]
Giorgio Locatelli will be busting some kitchen moves at Cucina this Thursday.

Giorgio Locatelli is no stranger to these parts having often dropped by to help rattle the pans at Cucina with his former employee and protégé, Mattia Camorani.

Chef Camorani has been in charge of the kitchen brigade at Cucina on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile since it opened in 2009.

Since then, Locatelli has visited on a number of occasions to help cook for some rather lavish dinners.

This Thursday, 29th May, the Michelin star chef will be back in action in Edinburgh along with Camorani.

Regional cooking

The two chefs will be serving a six course feast which promises to take diners on a tour of Italy’s regions including Sicily, Tuscany and Veneto in the north east.

Dishes include arancini, or rice balls; octopus salad with new potatoes; homemade ricotta with walnut and aubergine; swordfish steaks with capers and cheese; lamb rump with fennel, black olives and sundried tomatoes, all finished off with tiramisu.

A sommelier will be on hand for diners who want to pair each dish with a matched wine.

Culinary kiss and tell

As well as magnificent food, diners can expect plenty of anecdotes, tall tales and culinary kiss and tells from the two chefs.

The dinner starts at 7.30pm and costs £55 a head, not including wine.

Incidentally, the hotel housing Cucina used to be called Hotel Missoni but is now known as the G&V Royal Mile Hotel.

With a rather tasty 4/5 rating, Cucina is popular with 5pm diners. You can view their normal, non-Locatelli menus from here.
