If you are feeling peckish tomorrow then you could do worse than to scoot to the Thainstone Centre at Inverurie for the Taste of Grampian festival.

Now in its fifteenth year, the event is expected to attract in excess of 12,000 visitors. Over 160 food, drink and craft exhibitors will be displaying their wares while the main cookery events include food demonstrations from Nick Nairn, Paul Rankin and Lady Claire Macdonald.

Nick Nairn duels Paul Rankin

One of the highlights of the show looks likely to be the cookery duel between Nick and Paul, which will take place at 1.30pm, and 3.30pm.

Local chef Sandy Greig, one half of the popular Two Fat Laddies, will be teaming up with a variety of other chefs and cooks, including Lady Claire Macdonald and Tesco’s Donna Knight, to provide cookery demonstrations outdoors.

Sandy will also be overseeing a new contest for chefs, where they will be challenged to make an omelette as quickly as possible.

Best fish from the North Sea

Last year’s inaugural Seafood Pavilion was so popular that it is back and bigger than ever before. The pavilion will be selling the freshest fish that the North Sea has to offer.

A family friendly event, we are promised a fun-packed kid’s marquee and entertainment throughout the day as well as a Busker’s Corner.

A craft marquee; children’s fun educational area; a motor show sponsored by the Press and Journal, dancers, magicians, pipe bands and a wine tasting area all add to the fun.

You can see the full line-up from here.

Entry is free. Car parking is a fiver.
