Savour is at Summerhall this Sunday.

Today is the last day to buy tickets for the Savour event taking place in Edinburgh’s Summerhall this Sunday.

As we reported on the 5pm Dining blog way back in April, the Savour team will be taking over Summerhall, the former Dick Vet School, and creating ‘a virtual menu where spaces will be used imaginatively to create a fun journey around a wealth of produce’.

The organisers are promising a Main Course, Pudding Hall, Cheese Lounge, Beer Lab and Drinks Yard. Each space will allow you to host your own private banquet where you can browse and sample tasters from each of the exhibitors and put together your own feast of delicious small plates to share with friends.

Dive into the Beer Lab

You can see the full range of gourmet scoff on offer from here but, for some strange reason, the 5pm Dining blog’s eye was drawn by the Beer Lab.

In the Beer Lab, visitors will be able join the students of the UK’s first MSc in Gastronomy at Queen Margaret’s University.

The scholars will be taking guest on a gastronomical tour of the amber nectar. You’ll end up at the tasting station where you will do a mini blind test and sample some beer snacks created by Neil Forbes of Café St Honoré.

Father’s Day gift?

As we mentioned, today is the last day in which you can buy tickets as there won’t be any for sale on the door.

Still stuck for a Dad’s Day present? We’ve just saved your bacon.
