Edinburgh’s West End is home to a number of theatres; the King’s Theatre, Traverse Theatre, The Lyceum and Usher Hall. There are many restaurants in area which offer excellent pre and post theatre deals.

Dine with a view at the aptly titled Westview Restaurant within Capital Hotel. Its elevated position at the top of Corstorphine Hill looks out on to both the Pentland Hills and the Firth of Forth. The menu is made up of Scottish dishes which change with the seaons. £10.95 for 2 courses from the early bird menu.

20% discount on the bar menu at Shackleton’s, a beautiful hotel in leafy South Learmonth Gardens which serves British dishes.

£10.95 for a main course, side and glass of wine or Peroni from Croma Pizza at the Odeon.

2 for 1 main courses from Zucca, a lively Italian restaurant which has upstairs access to The Lyceum theatre next door.

Restaurant at the Bonham.

Located in the boutique hotel of its namesake, Restaurant at the Bonham serves French inspired dishes in sophisticated surroundings. 5pm Chief Technology Officer Alan visited for dinner and gave it a very firm thumbs up. “I had the slow cooked pork belly, Stornoway black pudding and apple salad as a starter and it was fantastic – the pork was really tender but the edges were nice and crispy. For the main I had steak and chips which were great as well.” 20% a la carte discount + glass of wine.

£16 for 2 courses on pre-theatre menu at Edinburgh Larder Bistro which serves Scottish dishes made from local, seasonal produce.

£16.95 for 2 courses on chef’s set menu at One Square, a stylish British restaurant within Sheraton Hotel with postcard views of the castle.

£16.50 for 2 courses on prix fixe menu at Galvin Brasserie de Luxe, a French restaurant within Waldorf Astoria run by the Michelin awarded Galvin brothers.
