The 5pm Dining blog is already dreaming of our summer hols. Sand between our toes; sun on our back and the smell of simply cooked seafood drifting over from the barbie.
If we close our eyes, we can just about taste the crisp white wine we’ll be quaffing.
Less happily, it’s looking as though it will be summer 2016 before this blogger is in sunnier climes.
However, dry your eyes, dear reader, all is not lost. We will be enjoying a taste of the Med long before then.
On Sunday 24th May, Baby Grand on Elmbank Gardens will be bringing a little Mediterranean sunshine to Glasgow when they play host to The Great Greek Extravaganza.
Gourmet Greek buffet
Baby Grand has teamed up with the Greek food specialists Agora to create a cracking gourmet Greek buffet menu.
Jonathan McFarlane, Baby Grand’s Head Chef, has been refining his roast peppers; perfecting his pork shoulder and carefully cooking his koftas for the feast.
Tickets are very keenly priced at a tenner per person and include three drinks. Choose from a glass of red, white or rosé wine; ouzo or Greek mandarin liqueur.
To be honest, the 5pm Dining blog would pay £10 simply to not watch Antiques Roadshow on a Sunday evening so The Great Greek Extravaganza looks even more of a steal.
The full buffet menu is below:
You can book tickets here. £10 per person. Event takes place on Sunday 24th May from 6pm.
