Glen Clova Hotel and Lodges are surrounded by some of Scotland’s most striking scenery.

The 5pm Dining blog has consulted its meteorological department and they have assured us that this summer will be – technical term coming up – an absolute stoater.

Many people will be making the most of it by heading to big outdoor festivals such as T in the Park. Others may prefer their festivals to be on a smaller scale.

For the last few years, the Glen Clova Hotel and Lodges have welcomed people to the Glen Clova Folk & Ale Festival at the foot of Glen Doll in the Cairngorm National Park.

This year the Glen Clova Folk & Ale Festival takes place over the weekend beginning Friday 17th July.

Real ales

The organisers are promising a great selection of real ales and ciders on tap as well as an excellent band line-up.

There will be a range of food available and live music on all three days as well as a BBQ and spit roast pig on Saturday and Sunday.

One of the bands is Heidrum who are returning after a stomping set at last year’s festival.

Live music times for each day are as follows:

Friday 17th – 7pm-11pm

Saturday 18th – noon-midnight

Sunday 19th – 1pm-9pm

Weekend camping tickets

Tickets are £44 per person for 3 Day Weekend Camping & Admission, and camper vans and caravans will be permitted this year. You can book tickets here.

Day admission tickets will be available for purchase from Glen Clova on the day and cannot be bought in advance.

Regrettably, due to the location and ground, disabled facilities are very limited. For health and safety reasons, the organisers strongly advise against any wheelchair users attending the festival.

Under 21’s will not be allowed to camp. All children must be supervised and will be allowed in the marquee until 9pm.
