5pm Dining is always signing up new restaurants. You can now book great offers at the following places through 5pm.

V Deep

The brainchild of the broadcaster and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli, V Deep is a funky craft beer and curry restaurant in Leith. Decorated with bright, eye-popping graffiti and sound tracked with a lovingly curated playlist, V Deep is a refreshing, contemporary take on an Indian restaurant. The beer offer is no afterthought, many of the craft beers are carefully matched to individual dishes.

At the moment, they are offering a staff curry, sides and a 1/3 pint of draught beer for a tenner between 6pm and 7pm.

One of a new generation of Leith Walk establishments, Bar Brig opened in 2015 on the former site of an old school local. Recycled whisky casks, stripped brick walls and shabby chic furniture all promote a laidback atmosphere. If you like burgers then Bar Brig will hit your sweet spot. Handmade from Scottish ingredients, they come served on a toasted brioche bun and are available in four and eight ounce versions.

A smartly turned out restaurant on Cleveden Road in Glasgow’s West End, 111 by Nico is headed up by chef patron Nico Simeone. With large windows to the street and an open plan kitchen, the dining room is a pleasant, airy space for a leisurely lunch or dinner.

The menus at 111 by Nico show no lack of ambition. Each week a new menu is created in the kitchens and presented to diners. The dishes are artfully plated and often feature unusual ingredients such as horseradish snow, thyme foam or lime gel. A typical starter might be the smoked ham hough which is starkly described as sandwich, apricot, granola and hazelnut dressing.

At the time of writing, 111 by Nico is offering two courses from the a la carte plus a  glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne for £23.

Opened in the summer of 2015, The Weavers Table is a casual Scottish bistro on Paisley’s New Street. The chefs at The Weavers Table like to source locally where possible and prepare everything from scratch on the premises. They even do their own butchery on site.

The menus change regularly but popular main courses might be the roast lamb rump with crispy potatoes, sautéed market vegetables and a mint gravy or the grilled plaice with crushed potatoes and a caper and shallot butter.

They are offering two courses from the a la carte menu plus a glass of wine for £12.95.
