Avante Garde, Glasgow

An inviting space with a cool, contemporary décor, Avant Garde is a lively music bar and restaurant on King Street in Glasgow’s Merchant City. The huge windows are great for people watching, but much of the attention focuses on the regular live music. Their festive shoppers menu has a huge selection of salad, burger, pasta and risotto dishes.

La Vita Spuntini, Glasgow

Offering a leisurely Tuscan dining experience in the centre of Glasgow’s Byres Road, La Vita Spuntini serves a wide range of Italian favourites. Their Christmas lunch menu features pizza, pasta, beef and fish dishes, and if you’re feeling particularly traditional you can go for their Christmas turkey.

Grosvenor Casino and Grill, Glasgow

Chaophraya, Glasgow

Glasgow’s Chaophraya is a spectacular setting for a special festive meal – set over four floors of The Townhouse on Buchanan Street, it is Europe’s largest Thai restaurant and boasts a romantic Buddha balcony where two diners can eat high above the main dining room. There is also the restaurant’s Palm Sugar Lounge cocktail bar on the ground floor which is perfect for pre or post meal drinks.

Grosvenor Cafe, Glasgow

Grosvenor Cafe in Glasgow’s Ashton Lane aims to cater to all tastes and this is reflected in their Festive Fayre menu which features turkey, beef, fish and veggie main course dishes and starters.  The meal can be topped off with desserts that include a traditional Christmas pudding or chocolate and mandarin cheesecake with fresh berry coulis.

Masala Twist City Centre, Glasgow

Masala Twist in Glasgow’s Hope Street puts a Scottish twist on traditional Indian dishes – mince and tatties curry anyone? Mango Restaurant and Bar, Glasgow

Mango Restaurant and Bar in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street serves a mix of main courses and tapas from all over South America. Salsa classes, club nights, open mic nights, live bands, DJs and all the Copa America games ensures a carnival atmosphere all year round. Their Christmas menu features a mix of the traditional, like a turkey roast, and  Latin American dishes, such as slow cooked roasted pork served with boiled rice, saffron and fresh avocado.

Twenty Princes Street, Edinburgh

Triple height windows in Edinburgh’s Princes Street give the first floor restaurant fantastic views over the city centre to the Castle. With oak floors, ornate ceilings and leather banquette seating, the interior is just as eye-catching. The menus are local and seasonal but some dishes are constant such as the signature steak with is cooked on the restaurant’s Josper Grill (available on their festive menu).
