As you may have noticed from the launch of our 5pm Christmas Gifts, the festive season is not far over the horizon.
In the run-up to the party season, many of us will be planning on stocking up the drinks cabinet with goodies to ensure that it all goes with a swing.
If you are in the market for interesting wines and spirits then it is well worth taking a gander at the WoodWinters Big Tasting events taking place at Bridge of Allan on Friday 6th November (Royal Hotel, 5pm-8pm) and in Edinburgh (Summerhall, 4pm-7pm) on Saturday 7th November.
Over 100 wines
There will be over a hundred wines and spirits available for tasting and purchase at both events. Of course, their makers will also be there so you can chat about their wares and discover that little bit more about them.

Wine prices start at around £7 for easy drinking quaffers and the list also includes some special bottles for those keen to open something extraordinary on Christmas Day or at the Bells.
As well as Scottish gins, there will also be rums from Trinidad and Venezuela plus Japanese whiskies from the clever distillers at Nikka.
