We think Sygn Bar & Kitchen in Edinburgh is a winner if you’re looking for a laid back venue with a great cocktail list and bar food menu.

1. The Offer

First is first, the offer Sygn Bar & Kitchen has on 5pm Dining is fantastic. Currently they’re offering a 25% kitchen menu discount plus a free cocktail if you book on 5pm. At busier times of the year you might get 15% off with a free cocktail but either way they’re great discounts.

2. The Cocktails

If you love cocktails you’ll no doubt have visited Sygn at some point in your cocktail career but if not, you’re in for a treat and must make the visit to try one of their concoctions.

Give the Finnish Empire a go, a fruity vodka cocktail with Stoli Ohranj, grapefruit, lemon and cranberry juice and ginger beer.

Bringing some tropical spice is the Kiwi Mexicana with Aquariva tequila, Agave syrup, lime & kiwi shaken with jalapeno peppers.

For those who like their cocktails extra sweet, the Chocolate Treacle cocktail would hit the spot; Brugal Anejo rum, chocolate bitters & apple stirred down with maple syrup.

3. The Menu choice

Bar food at its best, Sygn offers hot dogs (our favourite is the chilli dog – house chilli, jalapeños & pepper jack cheese), burgers (the Chorizo & pork burger is popular), pizzas (garlic mushroom, smoked cheese and rocket pizza is something different to try) as well as sharing platters (options include duck rolls with chilli slaw and plum ketchup and sesame chicken with BBQ ketchup) so you’re definitely not stuck for options if you’re on a cocktail crawl.
