Unless you are a fan of guns and ammo, Googling Shooters’ Shack can take you to some strange places.

However, try Googling Shooter Shack Glasgow and you should find the Facebook page for Glasgow’s latest club bar.

Opening today at 25b Queen Street, The Shooter Shack is a basement bar with a twist.

New pub sports

Brits have always been good at pub sports like pool and darts but The Shooter Shack takes the idea of pub games to a whole new level.

As well as a one-on-one basketball court and ping pong table, the bar also has a footpool pitch.

And yes, footpool is just as you imagine. It’s a ball game played with footballs on a pitch that looks like a pool table.

We’re more of a domino kinda scene but if you want to get sweaty while having an after work pint don’t let us stand in your way.

Pitchers of beer, shots (obviously) and burgers are promised along with unconfirmed reports of crisp rolls.

Late night opening

The Shooter Shack is said to open from 3pm until 3am – handy for those nights when an after work drink leads to work being cancelled for the following two days.

The new bar stands on the site which previously houses the short-lived Proud Mary bar.

The Shooter Shack opens this afternoon and it is not the only new bar to be unveiled in Glasgow today.

In the West End, BoBar has become beGin. Fingers crossed but we hope to have more info tomorrow.

No prizes for guessing that there may be more than a hint of juniper about the new venture.

Strip Joint for Finnieston

We are also getting wind of Ad hoc, a new place on Hope Street and The Strip Joint on Argyle Street which is billed as a ‘pizzeria and drinkmonger’.

We understand that the latter is named after the Finnieston strip rather than anything more dubious.

Apparently, it will be the first place in Glasgow to sell Krusovice tank beer.
