boutique gins

beGin opened last year in Glasgow’s Hilton Grosvenor Hotel and has built its reputation as a purveyor of fine and boutique gins, including an extensive collection of Scottish gins.

We paid them a visit to find out about what gins 5pmers should be adding to their list of must-try gins and spoke to Bar Supervisor Jack who furnished us with the gin-fo you need.

Here’s all you need to know about four boutique gins that you might not have tried.

1. Brockmans

Brockmans is like no other gin you’ve tried. It has complex flavours giving what Jack describes as an ‘intensely smooth’ taste. Find out more about the flavours of Brockmans in the video below.

2. Shetland Reel Company

Shetland Reel is a gin that respects traditional gin flavours to create an appealing drink with a Shetland twist. Ocean Sent is their second gin and won a Silver Medal at the World Spirits Awards. Listen to Jack tell you what makes it award-worthy.

3. G’Vine Gin

Heading out of the UK, beGin’s Jack picks a French gin as his third pick and one that would be a top choice for wine drinkers. Find out why in the video below.

4. Stirling Gin

This is the first ever gin from, you guessed it, Stirling. A popular gin with customers in beGIn, listen to Jack tell you how the flavours of the gin lead to the ideal garnish.

You can try all these gins at beGIN Glasgow who’re also running a Big Deal right now for a Capital Gin Shuttle – a gin flight plus nibbles for only £25 – buy here.
