Chez Mal
Chargrilled chicken breast & crunchy Thai salad with satay sauce is one of the dishes on the summer prix fixe menus at Chez Mal.

The Chez Mal restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh have launched their summer prix fixe menus. And they look fantastic.

For obvious reasons, we’re going to whisper this: it looks like summer has arrived.

The sun has been spotted. There has even been the occasional glimpse of blue sky. When the wind drops, it is possible to imagine what it might be like to feel warm.

I may even take off one jumper. Not both of them. That would be madness.

Summer has arrived at Chez Mal

Chez Mal
Buffalo mozzarella, heritage tomatoes and watermelon with fragrant Thai basil.

In keeping with the sunny season, the Chez Mal restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh have started offering their summer set menus.

It is a globe-trotting collection of flavours. For example, the buffalo mozzarella starter comes with heritage tomatoes, watermelon and Thai basil.

From the main courses, the USDA slow roast beef brisket is served with blackened sweet potatoes, succotash and chimichurri. A combination which makes more than a nod to South America.

Switching back across the Atlantic, a main course of summer vegetable and cherry tomato linguini with fresh chilli is just the sort of thing you might order at any port on the Med.

What they all have in common is that they look very appetising.
