drink in Glasgow
Need ideas for where to drink in Glasgow? Like beer?

Need some suggestions for where to drink in Glasgow? We got ’em.

For a while, it looked as though this weekend’s Beer Makes Glasgow event might not happen.

But fear not. We will not go drouthy this weekend as it has risen from the ashes and is back on.

Taking place in the Art School on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th August, there will be drinks from fine brewers such as Alechemy, Dead End Brew Machine, Drygate, Fallen, Fyne Ales, Gallus, Grunting Growler, Out of Town, Six Degrees North, Tempest, Up Front Brewery and Thistly Cross Cider.

Crossing the Rubicon and the Vic Cafe Bar will be dishing up food. Tickets for each session are £9 and can be bought here.

The event is not-for-profit, with funds going to Drumchapel Food Bank.

Drink in Glasgow: Banfi wine lunch

If you prefer Banfi wine to beer, you may prefer the wine lunch at Chez Mal in Malmaison on Saturday 26th August.

Italian wine maker Castello Banfi visited the Glasgow hotel last year and the event was so popular that he’s back for round two.

Mr Banfi founded the largest and most successful estate in Montalcino. In fact, some say that he revolutionised winemaking in this part of Italy.

Starting from noon, the event comprises a wine tasting and three course, Tuscan-inspired lunch.

Tickets are £49.50.

Big Deals at Chez Mal

The Chez Mal bar is a groovy spot for afternoon tea.

Of course, we also have some fantastic Big Deals at Chez Mal.

If you like gin, you might want to try the Hendrick’s afternoon tea.

For £29, two people can have a Hendrick’s afternoon tea at Chez Mal bar.

Tuck into an afternoon tea which, among other things, features a hot smoked salmon and crème fraîche wrap; chipotle chicken and avocado wrap; mini burger, fruit scone, strawberry and vanilla Pavlova and a salted chocolate brownie.

You can enjoy them while sipping on your Hendrick’s G & Tea – a refreshing mix of Hendrick’s gin, St Germain elderflower liqueur, blackberry and elderflower tea syrup, lemon juice, tonic.

We also have a Big Deal on a Chateaubriand sharing steak for two with a bottle of wine or Prosecco for £49.
