new Edinburgh restaurants The Moveable Feast means that in one night you can experience all of the restaurants and bars in Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian.

There are lots of new Edinburgh restaurants within touching distance of launching. We have all the Edinburgh food news right here.

Taking things in chronological order, we'll start with tomorrow's launch of Fhior restaurant.

As we have mentioned several times, Chef Scott Smith, formerly of Norn, is opening his new venture on the hip and happening Broughton Street.

A little under a week later, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian is hosting a dining experience with a difference.

Guests will have the opportunity to spend the evening experiencing a Moveable Food Fest in all of the hotel's restaurants and bars.

One of Scotland's most striking dining rooms

The evening will kick off with a welcome cocktail at The Caley Bar. Themed on the grandeur of the 19th century’s Caledonian Railway, it has plush furnishings which are not a million miles from those on the Orient Express.

After a cocktail, guests will move upstairs to The Pompadour by Galvin, one of Scotland’s most striking dining rooms.

Here, guests will enjoy a wine-paired, fine-dining starter of Isle of Wight tomatoes by Head Chef, Daniel Ashmore. The toms will be accompanied by basil ricotta, Minus 8 vinegar and ajo blanco .

The evening will continue at the hotel’s casual bistro, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe. Guests will be served a main course of spring lamb loin and braised neck with petit pois à la française. Head Chef Jamie Knox will present a glass of paired wine.

Served in Peacock Alley, dessert will be a Blacketyside strawberry cheesecake with fresh mint sorbet and passionfruit syrup.

Dining extravaganza

The heart of the hotel, Peacock Alley harks back to the building's past as a railway hotel. The old station concourse is now Peacock Alley, a lounge with sandstone walls and a striking peacock light feature.

General Manager, Dale MacPhee said: 'Hosted by our expert team of chefs, mixologists and sommeliers, this gastronomic tour will offer guests a dining extravaganza across The Caley Bar, The Pompadour by Galvin, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe and Peacock Alley.

The dinner will be held on Wednesday 6th June at 6.30pm. Costing £40 + VAT per person, tickets are limited and can be purchased here.

Of course, 5pm Dining also has several deals and offers with the restaurants at Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian.

Check out this Big Deal for a five course Discovery Menu with wine pairing for two at The Pompadour by Galvin.

And you still have until Monday to enjoy the Dine Out Scotland offer at Galvin Brasserie de Luxe:

£15.95 for a main from the seasonal menu plus tea or coffee.
