The first Glasgow Cocktail Weekend  will take place in August.

In addition to delicious cocktails, the event will act as a showcase for Glasgow's home-grown DJ talent.

Running from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th August, the weekend will give cocktail lovers the chance to sample over a hundred signature £5 drinks and attend master classes in 30 of the city’s top venues.

Glasgow Cocktail Weekend will also feature a jam-packed live music programme at the Rotunda. The venue will have two performance spaces: the Naked Grouse Presents Stage and the MAKAR cocktail lounge.

Among the artists performing are cult dance favourites We Should Hang Out More and house kings Silicone Soul.

Saturday 11th August

We Should Hang Out More - love disco and techno? These are your people.

Sunday 12th August

Closing party - All female superstar line-up including Rebecca Vasmant, IDA, Lindsay Green and Aisha.

Day tickets are available from £10 or you could go for a £30 a full weekend pass which provides access to all events over the four days.

Tickets entitle the holder to exclusive discounted £5 cocktails in over 30 participating venues and bars across Glasgow. They also include entry to exclusive events, cocktail sampling and master classes plus entry to the live DJ shows.

Glasgow Cocktail Weekend: something for everyone

Organised by award-winning Scottish communications consultancy Moir Media, the festival aims to allow Glasgow and tourists to the city a chance to discover the grit and glamour of the best of Glasgow’s live music scene and its independent food and drink operators.

Speaking about the launch, organiser Nicola Moir of Moir Media, said:

'Glasgow has no shortage of incredible bars and venues and the Glasgow Cocktail Weekend is about putting the city’s bartenders in the spotlight...

'Over 30 of Glasgow’s best bars will be serving up £5 drinks from the effortlessly cool Kelvingrove Café, the stylish Spanish Butcher to live blues basement den Howlin Wolf – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

'Whether you want to sip on something spectacular or dance to an international DJ, join us this August to drink and dance your way across the best venues in Glasgow.'

Participating venues include 5pm Dining faves such as Rioja, The Finnieston, Lebowskis, The Spanish Butcher, Hutchesons City Grill and Mezze.
