Following hugely popular restaurants in London, Bath, Exeter and Leeds, Absurd Bird have brought their brand of bright lights, deep fried chicken, potent cocktails and love of all things country and Western to Glasgow.

The food at Absurd Bird is incredibly decadent. But first, let’s look at the decor. With neon signs displaying country and western lyrics, plaid wallpaper and 50s style formica booths, it looks like Dolly Parton was hired as the interior designer.

The dish on the far left is the restaurant’s Total Melt It contains celery & tomato dippers, Buffalo chicken wing, Buffalo chicken slider, Buffalo chicken tender, Absurd cheese fondue with deep fried Babybel, cheese dust & tortilla chips.

Then, from left to right, Buffalo wings, crispy fried buttermilk chicken, sweetcorn salad and AB traditional chicken waffles.

Decadent milkshake

This milkshake? It’s the Butter My Nuts milkshake, Absurd Bird’s vanilla and peanut butter shake topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, sauce and and Oreo ice cream sandwich!

Potent cocktails

The cocktails are just as indulgent as the food. Here’s a selection of a few of the cocktails Absurd Bird has to offer:

Hilly Billy Ice Tea: AB moonshine mixed with homemade sweet tea, simple syrup and fresh lemon juice.

Hen Night: vodka mango puree, passion fruit syrup and cream.

Savvy Sling: gin shaken with crushed pomegranate seeds, fresh mint, lemon juice, simple syrup and topped with the house white.

Tiki Dark Shine: AB Moonshine, dark rum and ginger beer.

Chicken Rum: dark rum shaken hard with fresh lime juice, citrus liqueur, apricot brandy and topped with bitters.

Mai Tai sharer: rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine.
