Burgers, dogs and deli sarnies are just some of the US-inspired dishes on offer at the Taphouse Finnieston.

The team never rest in their quest to add new restaurants to 5pm Dining. Bon appétit!

New restaurants on 5pm Dining include Azzurro on Cambridge Street and Taphouse Finnieston on Argyle Street.

Formerly Neighbourhood Bar and Kitchen, the Argyle Street premises had a complete refurb and rebrand last year.

If you drop by, you can look forward to cool tunes and a stripped back decor in one of Glasgow's most hip districts.

Along with a great selection of craft beer, the food menus at Taphouse offer a wide range of dishes with a focus on the USA.

The menu is divided into starters, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, burgers, pizzas, sides and desserts.

The bar’s homage to the States can be seen in dishes like the New York deli sandwich with peppered pastrami, Swiss cheese, sliced gherkins and mustard mayo.

The Sloppy Joe hot dog features a beef dog, beef chilli and cheddar cheese while the Southern Comfort burger is made with fried chicken tenders, pulled pork, and BBQ sauce.

Those with a sweet tooth can tuck into the cheesecake of the day, the warm chocolate fudge cake, or the sticky toffee pudding.

And, of course, part of the Taphouse's appeal is that The SEC, Hydro and Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum are all within easy strolling distance.

New restaurants on 5pm Dining: Azzurro

New restaurants on 5pm Dining Getting pizza pangs? Head to Azzurro.

If the Taphouse is handy for the Hydro, Azzurro is well located for a night at the theatre.

Glasgow Film Theatre, the Theatre Royal, Pavilion and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall are all within easy striking distance.

As the name suggests, Azzurro is a traditional Italian trattoria.

The simple, rustic decor is as warm as both the welcome and the friendly service.

At Azzurro, the good value lunch menu includes choices like the sautéed lamb liver with onions and red wine sauce; haddock fillet in a white wine and lemon sauce plus a selection of pizza.

In the evenings, the menu expands to take in more thin-based pizza; classic Italian antipasti and a wide range of pasta.

As well as steak and chicken dishes, the à la carte at Azzurro includes classics such as veal in breadcrumbs served with spaghetti and saltimbocca alla Romana – escalope of veal topped with Parma ham, cooked in a white wine and sage sauce.

Popular fish dishes include spaghetti with mussels, tomato and herbs and the Mediterranean fish stew with garlic bread.
