Glasgow's eating and drinking scene never sleeps. These new places are dreaming of a long and successful lifespan.

First up, popular Italian restaurant group La Vita are poised to launch their fifth site in the city.

La Vita Spuntini will open in Gordon Street very shortly. We strolled past yesterday and it all looked within touching distance of the finishing line.

When it does open you will be able to book into La Vita Spuntini on Gordon Street via 5pm Dining. You can already browse their menus here.

Specialising in sharing plates of Italian classics, the new Spuntini joins La Vita Spuntini on Byres Road; La Vita on George Square; La Vita Pizzeria in Bishopbriggs and Piccolino e Vino in Newton Mearns.

Sticking in the city centre, JoJo Kitchen opened this summer in the Princes Square unit that formerly housed Obu restaurant.

As well as serving Malaysian food, the restaurant has an array of traditional clothing from Japan, Malaysia, China and Thailand which guests are welcome to try on.

Ideal if you want to add some South East Asian glamour to your insta feed.

Your correspondent does not look his best in a kimono so we will stick to the roti canai followed by the salt and pepper soft shell crab.

Everyman Cinema

We will continue to hang around Princes Square for the opening of Everyman Cinema on Friday.

A chain of boutique cinemas, the Glasgow venture will have three auditoriums.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Halloween and A Star Is Born are all teed up for the opening week.

You can enjoy your favourite Hollywood peeps having made the most of the cinema's bar menu.

As well as assorted flavours of popcorn, they offer pizza, sharing plates and a range of beef, chicken and halloumi burgers.

Beers, wine, cocktails, milkshakes, softies and hot drinks will keep everyone hydrated during the feature film.
