It is safe to say that these days, Christmas dinner is no longer just for Christmas Day (and quite right too — why should the 25th get all the fun?).

Nowadays you can enjoy as many festive meals as you want with your partner, friends, family and favourite elves.

And with its twinkling fairy lights, reindeer candles and cosy bistro vibe, Ollie's in Strathbungo is looking particularly Christmassy this December. It also has a menu to match, which we were only too keen to try...

Obviously, we started with a delicious festive cocktail each to get into the spirit of things...

Next, we began our three course Christmas meal, starting with baked camembert accompanied by sherry onion marmalade and toast...

And prawn & crab cocktail with spiced marie rose and Avruga.

For our mains, we tucked into honey roast duck breast with figs, dauphinoise potatoes and raspberry sauce...

And the veggie option of a butternut red pepper goats cheese parcel with sunblush cream.

Onto the puddings! This orange & star anise creme brûlée with cinnamon shortbread added a nice festive twist to the classic dessert...

And of course, we had to sample Ollie's very own Christmas pudding as well, served with mulled wine ice cream.

Once we'd finished our meal at Ollie's, it felt as if the festive season had well and truly begun. So bring it on Santa, bring it on...

Tempted to try out the Christmas menu at Ollie's in Strathbungo? Then treat yourself to our 5pm offer for either two courses or three courses with a drink.
