Roosevelts Bar & Kitchen recently opened up in Glasgow's West End, just off Gibson Street where TriBeca used to be.
It continues the USA theme (in case that's not obvious from its presidential name) with a menu that serves classic American comfort food for brunch, lunch and dinner.
Standard enough cuisine but they've added a big point of difference: their vegan selection of dishes.
Fricken vegans
Since it opened, Roosevelts has been attracting vegan customers from across Glasgow to try their Fricken Tower Burger, created by local blogger VeganBurd.
The burger uses 'Fricken breast' a plant-based chicken alternative mimicking its texture and taste, and comes with lettuce, tomato, garlic vegan mayo and a hash brown.
We took a visit and gave it a try and can definitely say if you're craving the chicken burgers you had as a child, this will take you back. Take a look at the mighty burger in the image above (we got it served with sweet potato fries).
The menu's burger/hot dog selection has a number of other vegan options including The bandit Dog, a tofu wiener with vegan pulled pork, spring onion and smoked provolone cheese on a vegan brioche bun and The Lewinsky, a vegan steak burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, smoked provolone cheese and vegan burger sauce on a vegan brioche.
Carnivore delight
An American comfort food menu of course can't forget the carnivores out there and the burger/dog selection on Roosevelt's menu has a top selection to satisfy any meat eater.
From The Harley, a steak burger with BBQ pulled pork, spring onion, bacon and cheddar to The Jackson, beef frank with caramelised onion, ketchup and mustard on a steamed bun, if you're still craving more you can pick one of their sides (we vote for the Truffle mac).
We opted for the namesake burger, The Roosevelt, a double patty with smoked bacon, chorizo mac ‘n’ cheese, lettuce and tomato, take a look at the beast of a burger below.

Milkshakes are as American as the stars and stripes so of course, we had to have one to complement our burger feast.
Below is the Classic American Vanilla Milkshake topped with a sweet waffle and the Strawberry Fields Milkshake, a rich and fruity shake served with a strawberry donut. Yum.
