Well, not actual LA - imagine the jetlag on Tuesday morning - but you can give your taste buds a flavour of the place thanks to a new Cali-inspired brunch menu from Glasgow's So L.A. restaurant.

Infused with a love of all things Golden State - well, the good stuff, anyway - the Mitchell Street bar and restaurant has unveiled a 'rebellious' menu that aims to 'shine a ray of California sun on Glasgow’s city centre'.

Available every Saturday (noon to 4pm) and Sunday (11am to 4pm), the menu includes quirky flavour combos such as a croissant burger stuffed with mac ‘n’ cheese (main pic) and So L.A.'s take on eggs Benedict - fried soft shell crab on top of English muffins drizzled with a creamy Hollandaise and a sweetcorn relish.

Naturally, there is crushed avo on sourdough and the buttermilk pancakes are made fresh to order and come with strawberries, blueberries, banana, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and more ‘grammable flowers.

If you really want to push the boat out, you can go for brunch with fizz for two. Choose between a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, Bellstar Prosecco or Whispering Angel rosé.

They are all accompanied by fresh orange and fruit, two classic brunch dishes and a popping candy dessert with a touch of gold.

To top it off, DJ Ray Woods provides a soundtrack of house, R&B and classics with a strict vinyl-only policy.

James Rusk, from So L.A. owners RUSK & RUSK, said: 'So L.A. is all about channelling the awesome Californian vibe and mixing it up with a fair measure of cheeky Glasgow charm.

'With our Cali Brunch, we’ve created the most original, exciting and unapologetically weekend menu that Glasgow has ever seen. This is brunch for people who really seek out the best things in life and stretch the weekend to its limits.'

Of course, you can book into So L.A. via 5pm Dining.
