Pizza, beers, gin and massive Espresso Martinis - we've got the lot.

The blog has previously mentioned Froth & Flame, the new bar and pizza kitchen on Morrison Street.

We dropped by for lunch with a chum yesterday and had a fab pizza topped with mozzarella, fennel sausage and Italian broccoli.

It was a sourdough base with a well-fired, crisp exterior and a gently chewy interior with just the right amount of elasticity.

It turns out that the chef manning the Valoriani wood-burning pizza stove is Paulo Santos; winner of the Best Pizza gong at the Scottish Italian Awards in 2017 and 2018.

In fact, 2018 was a very good year for Chef Santos as he also scooped the top pizza prize at the UK National Pizza awards.

Their pizzas start at £5 which seems a very reasonable price for tasting the handiwork of the UK's top pizzaiolo.

As well as craft beers, they also do salads, sharing platters and a steak. Here's the menu.

Rose Street Garden in bloom

Moving right into the centre of town, The Dome on George Street has re-opened its Rose Street Garden for the summer season.

If the sun is out then it's a civilised spot for a cool drink. Perhaps a G 'n' T made with Bombay Sapphire, this year's sponsors of the garden.

And if the sun isn't smiling down - this is Edinburgh after all - then the garden is well equipped with five massive umbrellas, heaters and Bombay Sapphire blankets.

DJs, live music and pop-up parties are promised along with street food and cocktails.

Dive into Rabble's giant Espresso Martini

A hop, skip and a jump away, Rabble on Frederick Street has turned its Garden Bar into Café Cîroc - a space dedicated to the iconic Espresso Martini.

Among the different variations on the caffeinated cocktail is the Wakey Wakey Big Shakey which is apparently the biggest Espresso Martini in Edinburgh.

You can make your own jokes about the breakfast of champions.

Monthly palm readings, cocktail masterclasses and beauty workshops are among the other attractions over the summer months.

Rabble is a 5pm restaurant and has a number of great offers on meals.

For example, two people booking in on Tuesday could choose between a two course lunch with drink for £15 each; a two course dinner with a drink for £20 or a 20% discount on the à la carte menu.

Fierce roars into Rose Street

Last but by no means least, we previously mentioned that the Fierce brewery team were expanding from their Aberdeen base and opening a branch on Edinburgh's Rose Street.

All being well, it will launch today to coincide with the first day of the Edinburgh Craft Beer festival.
