If you are down for a dram then you should set the sat nav for Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms on Saturday 15th June.

Edinburgh Whisky Festival is setting up shop in the 18th century ball room and it promises at least thirty different whisky brands, bottlers and distillers.

Of course, Scottish whisky will be well represented but there will also be drams from distillers in Taiwan, India, Japan and the USA

Master classes on the day will cover everything from cocktails to blending.

As well as the mainstream sampling whiskies, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase 'under the counter' drams - rare, old and exclusive whiskies.

While sampling the mainstream whiskies is included in the ticket price, tokens for the 'under the counter drams' start at £10.

Tickets.

Over a hundred real ales

Fast forward to Thursday 20th June and the Glasgow and West of Scotland branch of CAMRA are hosting the Glasgow Real Ale Festival at the Briggait.

The festival will feature over a hundred beers from breweries in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

The styles of beer on offer will run the gamut from pale hoppy ales through to darker stouts and porters.

And if beer is not your thing (!) you can sample a variety of ciders, meads, gins and wines.

It all kicks off from 3.30pm on the Thursday.

Tickets are available here.
