After Edinburgh, the Glasgow city centre branch will be the second Scottish outlet for the rapidly expanding Ivy family of brasseries.

The launch date was announced earlier this week with an eye-catching publicity campaign, pictured above, in Glasgow city centre.

The original on West Street, in London, was long known for featuring a possibly unlikely combination of glamorous, metropolitan movers and shakers who went to The Ivy to eat comfort food such as shepherd's pie and fish 'n' chips.

In 2017, the West Street Ivy celebrated its 100th birthday with a promo appearance by none other than Kylie.

A mini gig by La Minogue at the Glasgow brasserie may be less likely but the premises will not lack pizzazz.

As well as the main restaurant, the space will feature two beautiful onyx bars and a glamorous private dining room seating 24 guests.

DJs and musicians will provide regular entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for those dining upstairs or enjoying cocktails at the beautiful first floor bar.

Parisian-style outdoor seating

The outdoor seating area is not just any outdoor seating area. This is 'Parisian-style' outdoor seating.

With space for some 222 guests across two floors, the brasserie will offer 'sophisticated yet relaxed dining' with friendly service from sunrise to late evening.

This means a menu which will provide everything from breakfast, elevenses, lunch, light snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails, weekend brunch and dinner.

Overseen by Head Chef Brian Scanlan, the kitchen will serve dishes including refreshing heritage tomato and feta salad with avocado, watermelon, pistachio and olives; lobster linguine, and char grilled halloumi with Padrón peppers.

Locally inspired cocktails

Sitting alongside the food menus will be a series of locally-inspired cocktails, as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list.

Created by the brasserie’s expert bar team, cocktails will include a refreshing Bramble G&T with Ellis No.2 Scottish Bramble Gin, Briottet Crème de Mure, fresh blueberries & Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, and The Discovery featuring Shackleton Blended Whisky, Barolo Chinato, rosemary & orange syrup and Peychaud’s Bitters.

Baton Berisha, Managing Director at The Ivy Collection says: 'We’re delighted to be opening in Glasgow city centre on Monday, 29 July. Overseen by General Manager Kevin Lightbody, the team look forward to welcoming our regular guests and new neighbours, as well as becoming part of the local community.'
