Dining at The Corinthian Club is all about one single great idea — that you should be able to enjoy a relaxed meal in super swanky surroundings. Specifically, a sweeping former bank HQ with elaborate cornicing, gold leaf work and a dazzling glass ceiling dome (plus the odd Greek goddess gazing down from above).

So when The Corinthian invited us along to try out its new summer menu, we prepared ourselves for a very stylish experience (it's a tough job etc, etc).

After settling into our cosy booth, we opted for starters of a light and creamy Burrata with Orange, Coriander & Pistachio alongside watercress and a summery dash of lavender oil....

And a hearty Pressed Ham Hock in Honey & Cider with toasted sourdough, charred gem, cucumber and mustard pickled red onion (think of it as a super posh version of a classic farmer's lunch).

Next up was Thyme Roasted Scotch Lamb Rump, which had suitably seasonal floral notes of almond & orange blossom, and was accompanied by butterbean mash, red pepper and walnut pesto...

And a somewhat decadent Cauliflower & Chilli Rigatoni with caramelised cauliflower purée, roasted cauliflower florets, red chilli, capers and vegetarian parmesan. Who said cauliflower can't be naughty? Not us.

It was tough to choose dessert (too many lovely options), but eventually we decided on Orange Posset Tart with chocolate meringue and citrus shortbread...

Aaand Chocolate Delice with Cocoa Crumble & Raspberry Sorbet. Do you have a crush on it yet? Do you?

Once the last crumb had been swept up, all that was left was for us to wave goodbye to the Greek Goddesses above, then head back into the real, less dreamy, Non-Corinthian world. Till next time...
