In Galashiels this weekend, Tempest  Brewing Co are holding their Oktoberfest hoolie on Saturday 21st while the Belhaven Brewery in Dunbar is celebrating its 300th anniversary!

Established in 1719, Belhaven is Scotland’s oldest working brewery and they are not going to let their 300th birthday pass by without a massive party.

On Saturday 21st September they will be hosting a festival of great Scottish music, local food, family fun and lots of beautiful Belhaven Beers.

Sunday will be more mellow. Guests are invited to drop by for the open brewery day and enjoy a tour, a blether and a pint.

On the Saturday, the musical line-up includes household names like Dougie MacLean and Capercaillie plus innovative new bands like Assynt (Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the BBC Scots Trad Music Awards 2018) and Kinnaris Quintet.

Contemporary folk artists

Multi-award-winning Scottish contemporary folk band Breabach will be joined by Highland outfit Tide Lines. There will also be sets  from Niteworks, who have become renowned for their fusion of electronica and folk music, and of course Elephant Sessions and Talisk - both winners of Belhaven’s annual bursary for innovation in Scottish music.

Gates open at 11am with the first act taking to the stage at noon. Meanwhile the brewery gardens will host family activities including music masterclasses.

There will be food stalls as well as Belhaven Brewery and bands merchandise stalls.

Tickets for Saturday are £25+booking fee per adult with limited numbers of kids tickets (under 12) free on a one-per-adult basis.

Tickets for Sunday are just £5 which includes a brewery tour.  Food and drink will be available to buy.
